Laminated Glass
GCIs laminated glass is fabricated on a state-of-the-art infrared processing system. The production line will laminate from 1/8" (2.7mm) to 1/2" (12mm) thick flat float glass products, and use a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer by Dupont to achieve the overall laminated make-up required. This processing system is set up to incorporate annealed and heat-treated glass into the laminated unit.
The laminating system applies heat and rolled pressure at regulated speeds to ensure a bond between glass and interlayer. Whe the finished unit comes off the processing line it is then loaded into the autoclave which employs high pressure adn heat to ensure a stronger bond between the glass and PVB interlayer thus creating the finished product.
